Map jokes that actually make sense

I was designing a map for a local festival and considered adding a legend that said, ‘you’re here, only if you follow the path.’ It got me thinking — why don’t we see more humor in our cartography? Any funny map mishaps or puns you’ve come across? I’d love to hear them.

, I totally get what you mean about needing humor in maps; i once found a trail map that labeled a shortcut as ‘Magical Mystical Path’ — turned out it was a construction site! It’s like, can we at least inject a bit of fun like your ‘you’re here’ idea, or is that too much to ask for?

That ‘you’re here’ concept is clever! I once saw a festival map that labeled the food court as ‘Calorie Canyon.’ Have you considered adding quirky labels like that?

, I hear you! It drives me nuts when maps are so serious. Why not add some whimsy?
