I’ve had similar experiences with ArcGIS in crime mapping. One time, we analyzed domestic violence reports and found that just tweaking our patrol schedules based on GIS data reduced incidents significantly. It drives me nuts when some folks don’t think community engagement is essential; just crunching numbers isn’t enough.
