We trimmed nightly jobs about 35% by adding a small compatibility layer: a stable PostGIS view for the old apps, with GeoPandas/GDAL doing the heavy lifting upstream so we can swap tools without breakage. Only caveat — lock down CRS early; one EPSG slip and your features relocate to Antarctica — baking ST_Transform checks in the pipeline helped: ST_Transform.
